本周我们来学习与榜样相关的词汇
1. model /ˈmɔdəl/
n. 榜样；模范
搭配：a role model 榜样
serve / act as a model 作为榜样
e.g. David Beckham is a greatrole modelfor our children.
e.g. These soldiersserve as modelsfor their country.
v. 模仿；以…为榜样
搭配：model yourself on/ after someone
e.g. Children often model themselves after their parents.
e.g. Many young athletes model themselves on professional players they admire.
2. embody/ɪm'bɒdɪ/
v. 表现，体现，代表思想或品质
e.g. He is a leader who embodies courage.
e.g. She embodied good sportsmanship on the playing field.
3. spotlight /'spɒtlaɪt/
n.公众的注意
搭配：be in/ under the spotlight 成为关注的焦点
stay out of the spotlight 远离聚光灯
e.g. He remains humble and indifferent to fame and wealth throughout his life, choosing to stay out of the spotlight.
e.g. Celebrities live their lives under the spotlight, with every move watched by the media.
4. inspire /ɪn'spaɪə/
v. 鼓舞;激励
搭配：inspire someone to do something
e.g. Her stories inspired generations of future scientists.
e.g. Role models inspire individuals to set goals, work hard, and pursue their dreams.
adj. inspiring 鼓舞人心的；
e.g. His resilience in the face of adversity makes him an inspiring role model.
e.g. She was an inspiring example to her followers.
5. proof /pruːf/
n. 证据；证明；凭证
搭配：someone isliving proof ofsomething 典型的例证；活生生的例子
e.g. She is living proof that staying active keeps you younger.
e.g. She’s living proof that education can break the cycle of poverty.
